Place – Soil

As a family, and as proud South Australians, we’re always thinking about the generations to come, always planning for the long-term, and always taking care of the soil that is our past, present and future.

It’s one of the key reasons we have been a leader in the adoption of sustainable and organic winemaking practices, safeguarding the future of our vineyards, our land, our wine regions and our wine industry in South Australia. Our belief in organic vineyard management resonates as true in that more naturally healthy soils and vines lead to more flavourful and delicious wines.

No other place on earth can create the diversity and deliciousness of wines that we can here, in South Australia.

Craft – Winemaking

Winemaking is a blend of science and art, a craft that captures the soil, site and season.

From soil to grape to glass, growing grapes and making wine has always been at the heart of our DNA. We believe that great wines begin in the vineyard and are crafted and polished in the winery.

Our 100-year-old winery has the benefit of both traditional and modern winemaking equipment and techniques. Our dedicated small batch Vintage House handles our super McLaren Vale and Organic premium wines.

Hand plunging and gentle pumping over extracts colour and flavour in our red wines and maturation in our cool barrel hall ensures freshness and vibrancy are retained.

Accredited to the highest standard, our state of the art bottling facility guarantees our wine is carefully estate bottled, ready for the world.

People – Family

We are a wine family. Five generations of winemakers, and counting. We’ve always been, and always will be, family-owned and family-driven. Making wonderful, delicious, accessible wines for people around the world to enjoy including a vast selection of organic wines and wines from McLaren Vale.

The Angove team are united in the one purpose, to make the best wine we can every year whilst being environmentally aware and community driven as part of Australian rural life.

Whilst the vines grow the grapes, it is the people that provide the heart and soul of Angove Family Winemakers.
