REGION:
South Australia, 2010
VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING:
Chardonnay and Semillon from the Angove Nanya vineyard is combined with fruit from premium long-term contract growers to produce a wine that is distinctly fruit driven and quintessentially Australian. The grapes for this wine were harvested during the cool of night and cold fermented in stainless steel tanks to capture the natural fruit characters.
WINEMAKERS’ NOTES:
Bright and fresh this wine is made to express the synergy of the crisp and tropical flavours of the Semillon with the fuller stone fruit and creamy characters of the Chardonnay. Light straw with green hues, the wine shows pineapple and grapefruit aromas on the nose with a hint of peach. On the palate the fresh crisp acidity is followed by a soft rich creamy texture finishing with great length.
Crafted to be enjoyed whilst young, Angove Chalk Hill Blue Semillon Chardonnay is a versatile food wine that will accompany grilled chicken, spicy ribs or Caesar salad perfectly.
TECHNICAL:
Varieties: Chardonnay
