REGION:
South Australia, 2009

VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING:
The grapes for this wine were sourced from the Angove Nanya Vineyard and other premium growers in the region.  Abundant sunshine, fertile soils and idyllic conditions allow our vineyard managers to produce grapes that are full of vibrant fruit characters.

The 2009 vintage was relatively cool, the exception being a short heatwave in February. This cooler year has been great for aromatic varietal expression, and a general lack of disease pressure has allowed us to harvest the fruit at optimal ripeness. White varieties also benefited from a juicy natural acidity contributing to excellent palate weight and flavour persistence overall.

Picked late at night to harvest the grapes as cold as possible the grapes were transported to the winery and pressed using modern membrane tank presses.  After cold settling the clear juice was carefully racked to cooled fermentation tanks and inoculated with selected yeasts. Cool fermentation was followed by minimal handling filtration and bottling at the Angove winery.

WINEMAKERS’ NOTES:
Attractive pale-medium straw in colour with green hues, this wine has attractive aromas of ripe stone fruit, melon and peach.

The palate has good weight with peach and melon flavours dominating with a hint of citrus, tasty vanillian oak, good length and a soft smooth finish.

Enjoy this wine well chilled, along, or with any lighter foods.  It is particularly good with seafood dishes.

REGION:
South Australia, 2008

VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING:
2008 was an early and low yield harvest due to ongoing drought in much of Australia’s grape growing regions.Careful scheduling to bring the grapes into the winery on cooler nights and great care with irrigation practices helped bring in a great harvest.

At all stages the winemakers endeavored to preserve the fruit expression of the grapes which make this wine.

The wine was clarified shortly after fermentation and kept in cool, temperature controlled tanks to preserve the vibrant fruit flavours so apparent on the nose and palate.

WINEMAKERS’ NOTES:
Attractive pale-medium straw in colour this wine has aromas of stone fruit, nectarine and peaches. The palate has good weight with peach and melon flavours dominating with a hint of citrus, tasty vanillin oak, good length and a soft smooth finish.

This is a great food wine, to be enjoyed chilled (8-10 C), whilst young and fresh.  Serve with fresh seafood such as oysters,  sushi, risotto and pasta.

TECHNICAL:
Varieties: Chardonnay
Alcohol: 13.5%
Total Acidity: 6.5gms/l
